Phillip K. Vacchio is a partner at the Shivers Law Group, where began working in March 2014. He focuses his practice in the areas of estate planning, elder law, Medicaid planning and applications, special needs planning, probate and administration, and guardianship proceedings. His goal is to be a zealous advocate for each and every client and to work cooperatively with them so that they are involved and aware of what is going on at every stage of representation. Whether retained for services as simple as preparing a basic Will or as complex as an asset protect trust or nursing home Medicaid application, he will strive to consistently communicate with his clients in a way that they clearly understand every step of the process and the ultimate outcome.
Prior to joining the Shivers Law Group, Mr. Vacchio was an associate attorney at the law office of Anthony E. Core, P.C., where he practiced in several fields including estate planning and administration, contract drafting and review, civil litigation, traffic violations, and landlord tenant law. While in law school, Mr. Vacchio interned as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Leonard D. Wexler, District Court Judge for the Eastern District of New York. He also had the opportunity to intern for the United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York.
Mr. Vacchio is a graduate of the University of Maryland, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Behavioral and Social Sciences in 2009, with a double major in Criminology and Criminal Justice and Psychology. Mr. Vacchio graduated cum laude from Hofstra University School of Law where he was an articles editor for the Labor and Employment Law Journal.
